Welcome! I am R. Brent Ostrum, a Forensic Document Examiner with over 35 years of experience providing forensic document examination to clients in Canada and internationally. I provide complete forensic services relating to document and handwriting examinations.
As a Diplomate with the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners, Inc., I have been professionally certified by that body. In terms of my involvement in professional bodies, I am also the sitting chairman of Document Section of the Canadian Society of Forensic Science.
Other activities of mine include serving on the NIST-OSAC Questioned Documents subcommittee. I also participated in the NIST-sponsored Expert Working Group on Human Factors in Handwriting Examination which published its final report Forensic Handwriting Examination and Human Factors: Improving the Practice Through a Systems Approach in 2020.
